Day Trips for Seniors
ABOUT DESERT ALOHA
Desert Aloha offers day trips to events and destinations in Tucson and the surrounding areas. The 5-hour outings provide the participants with socialization, education, and recreation while offering respite to the caregivers.
Angela Salmon, Trip Leader of Desert Aloha, is a certified CARES Dementia Specialist who has been working with seniors since 2010. She was the program director of a successful outreach program for seniors with early to middle stages of Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia, at a local senior living community. The innovative program provided semi-weekly indoor cultural activities and bus trips to local places of interest.
Desert Aloha was launched in the summer of 2019 to fulfill the repeated requests for weekend outings. The day trips were on hold due to COVID, however, the adventures have resumed!
